Waterfront Condo Facelift
September 2009
The Story Behind the PicturesSCOTTSDALE WATERFRONT CONDO FACELIFT2009 ASID Formerly bland and uninspiring, this high-rise condo had lots of potential. Our clients wanted a contemporary, colorful, and comfortable second home without going to the expense of replacing the flooring, cabinetry, or countertop materials. They especially disliked the unappealing fireplace wall and the powder room. We started with art and rugs reflective of the clients’ personality, selecting the rest of the furnishings and materials to enhance those choices. Then we tackled the existing fireplace wall, blending the existing stone flooring into a dynamic, asymmetrical focal point that showcases sculpture and minimizes the impact of the television. Installing a glass tile backsplash in the kitchen energized that space while the powder room was transformed from dull and boring into a work of functional art through the creative use of tile and mirror. We added can lighting to existing ceiling cans where needed to properly light art, rugs, and furnishings, replaced sconces and pendants in the kitchen and powder room, installed decorative hardware on existing cabinetry throughout, and replaced the light fixture in the entry with a bendable track system that enhances the shape of the oval ceiling as well as highlighting the furnishings and art in that space. Given an energizing facelift, the condo was transformed from dull to dynamic. READ PAST BLOGSSEE ADDITIONAL PROJECTS – BEFORE & AFTER PICTURES |
