The Story Behind the Pictures
FAMILY BATH REDO
There’s nothing like the pending arrival of a baby to trigger a long needed remodel. This bathroom, with it’s door to nowhere, mildewed walls, and 60′s cabinets, was transformed with thoughtful use of Pottery Barn and Restoration Hardware cabinetry and fixtures along with designer know-how. The door, leading only to a lonely landing near the trash cans, was replaced by a window that reveals far more of the view as well as providing privacy. Repositioning the toilet, partially shielding it from view, plus repositioning the tub/shower along the back wall makes far better use of the space as does the double sink vanity with it’s the two mirrored storage cabinets. Wainscoting, stacked subway tile accented with glass mosaics, vastly improved lighting, and a travertine floor laid on the diagonal completes the remodel is a most satisfying way.
